Whether it’s white sugar, brown sugar, honey, or corn syrup, you have to go without it for seven days. These simple sugars are bad for you and can wreak havoc on your insulin levels and blood sugar. What you’ll be getting instead during the detox program are healthy, complex sugars that come in the form of fresh fruits or vegetable juices. 

They’re not as easily broken down and they come with an excellent amount of dietary fiber that slows down and regulates your digestion.


This includes bottled fruit juices and bottled fruit jams or jellies which are loaded with simple sugars.


Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners are no better than the simple sugars mentioned above and you’ll need to avoid them too, at all costs. That’s because they are chemically manufactured and contain substances that have been found to raise toxicity levels, especially in the liver. 

You can even do one better and avoid artificial sweeteners completely, even after the seven day detox plan.

Yes, this includes diet sodas.
