The 7 Day Detox Diet - Lunch Recipes

For lunch on the first day, you are going to get to enjoy some starch in the form of brown rice. During the detox diet, it’s the bread (wheat and whole grain included) that you need to avoid because of the gluten content but brown rice is allowed. Here are two recipes to choose from for lunch, day one.

Pan-fried Salmon with Green Peas and Brown Rice


Ingredients:
To prepare:
Wash the rice thoroughly.

Place the rice and the water in a pot on low heat or in a rice cooker. Let the rice cook until fluffy and al dente.

Season the salmon on both sides with salt and pepper. On a medium pan on medium heat, place the olive oil. Place the salmon onto the pan and let one side cook for two to three minutes before turning it over. Let the other side cook for two minutes then take the salmon out and set it aside. In the same pan, toss the green peas to warm.

Serve the fillet of salmon right on top of the rice with the green peas on the side for a touch of presentation. You can top the salmon with yogurt and a little lemon juice if you’d like.
